The Firm Foundation of Freedom

Many people state that they love this country, and the freedom's that they enjoy here. How many actually know how to get involved to do what is necessary to protect those freedoms? Several people are concerned about the direction that this nation is going. They think that they have elected people that are going to help get it back on track, but then, once they are elected, they quickly switch to doing what that status quo has been.

As Latter-day Saints, we know that the U.S. Constitution was created by wise men that were chosen for this purpose by God. We are the only Christian religion that has doctrine that contains the Lord's will regarding liberty and the Constitution. We also have doctrine on the correct role of government. This is a great blessing to us, and it can be a blessing to others as well. Not only do Mormons have scripture that stands in support of the Holy Bible, they also have modern day revelation that can help us through these troubled times. Ultimately, it is the Word of God, but when it comes to civil life, there is also the U.S. Constitution. An LDS prophet, Ezra Taft Benson referred to the Constitution being as holy as scriptures and that it is our civil religion.

Many Latter-day Saints have supported other LDS candidates because they assumed that they would live up to the doctrines and principles that they believe. Sadly, this has not been the case. As more LDS people begin to truly focus on their duty, they begin to look for those who will uphold and defend the Constitution, but also for wise men that are moral, to fill every office of government.

And as they become more involved, they begin to find great ways to express their thoughts, and reasons as to why they are going what they are doing. This video is a Great example of that.
